16 billion dollars of investments in Kurdistan for 2008

On Friday the head of the Kurdistan invenstment authority reviled that investment in Southern Kurdistan region reached $16 billion for 2008. Half of this investments is said to have come form the GCC countries.
-The total amount of investments in Iraq's Kurdistan region in 2008 reached $16 billion, half of them from the private sector in the gulf countries, which announced their commitments to implement them in the coming years, - Heirsh Moharam Mohamed told the Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
There is no implementation of any projects from the gulf companies yet and that includes the UAE DAMAC which has the biggest real estate investment in the region with the cost of 6 billion dollars.
