Kurdish Director Awarded Best International Filmmaker

Sine, East Kurdistan. Jamil Rostami another great Kurdish movie director was named best international filmmaker for the movie -Jani Gal- at the 24th edition of the Boston Film Festival in Massachusetts, US.
Jamil Rostami was born in 1971 in Sine, Eastern Kurdistan(Iranian Kurdistan). He entered the cinema world when he was 16 and has experienced different aspect of cinema jobs, such as cinematography crew, assistant of director etc. He holds a BS in Chemistry and his first feature film named -Requiem of snow- was sent to Oscar as Iraq's selected film.
This Movie -Jani Gal- is his second featured film. The movie is based on a novel by the patriotic Kurdish writer and poet Ibrahim Ahmad. The movie begins when a Kurdish man is released from jail. He has been arrested by mistake when he went to find a midwife to help his pregnant wife, years ago. As he has been arrested during a demonstration the authorities thought he is one of the opposition group leaders.
Now, After his release, he tries to find his wife and his child. The times ,he tries to get what happened to his family and concerning what he experienced in jail, all makes a situation that he should decide how to continue his life, to be impartial or to join guerrilla warriors…
