Kurdistans First Gas Production

Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum has in a partnership begun producing gas in Southern Kurdistan (Iraqi Kurdistan). The two companies completed the first phase of the project together with 180 km long pipeline which will supply gas to the cities of Hewler (Erbil) and Slemani (Suleymania) power plants.
The plan is to eventually generate 1,250MW of power.
The project employed 2000 people. In the future it will save $2.5 billion of import jobs annually plus it will bring important social and economical benefits to Southern Kurdistan.
This is a great step forward for the region to address many of its local needs.
